At CES 2025, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang announced a series of new technologies focused on gaming, AI, and autonomous systems. The presentation included the GeForce RTX 50-series GPUs with Blackwell architecture, the NVIDIA Cosmos platform for autonomous machines, and Project DIGITS, a high-performance AI development system. Huang outlined the company’s plans to expand its role in accelerated computing and AI-driven industries.

GeForce RTX 50-Series GPUs

Huang introduced the GeForce RTX 50-series graphics cards, marking a significant leap in gaming and creative performance. The lineup includes:

  • RTX 5070: Priced at $549, delivering performance comparable to the previous generation’s RTX 4090.
  • RTX 5070 Ti: Available at $749.
  • RTX 5080: Offered at $999.
  • RTX 5090: The flagship model priced at $1,999.

These GPUs feature the new Blackwell architecture and incorporate GDDR7 video memory, enhancing power efficiency and performance. A standout feature is DLSS 4, an AI-driven technology that generates multiple frames per rendered frame, significantly boosting gaming performance and visual quality.

NVIDIA Cosmos and physical AI initiatives

Expanding into the realm of autonomous machines, Huang unveiled NVIDIA Cosmos, a computing platform designed to develop next-generation autonomous vehicles and robots using synthetic data. This initiative aims to revolutionize physical AI by providing a foundation for creating intelligent machines capable of operating in complex environments. Uber has been announced as an early adopter of this technology.

Project DIGITS

To empower AI researchers and developers, NVIDIA introduced Project DIGITS, a high-end desktop computer based on the Blackwell Superchip. Priced at $3,000 and available in May, this system is designed to run the entire NVIDIA AI stack, providing a powerful tool for AI development and research.

Following these announcements, NVIDIA’s stock experienced a notable surge, reflecting strong market interest and confidence in the company’s strategic direction. The expansion into AI-driven technologies and the introduction of advanced hardware solutions position NVIDIA at the forefront of technological innovation, with significant implications for various industries.
