EDGE Group and Qatar’s Barzan Holdings agreed to establish a joint venture focussed on the development of advanced defence technologies.
The agreement was formalised at DIMDEX 2026, which commenced its first day in Doha yesterday.
The agreement signals deepening industrial cooperation – on defence – between Abu Dhabi and Doha irrespective of individual foreign policies in the GCC and Africa.
EDGE is a new advanced technology firm, launched in November 2019, yet its investments continue to surge with (non-)GCC partners. The Group launched a landmark UAE-U.S. joint venture to develop autonomous systems with Anduril Industries November last year.
Barzan Holdings is Qatar’s leading commercial outlet for defence tech, keeping Qatar’s strategic defence updated and diversified with a range of commercial partners.
