Mubadala Capital Raises $554M from Co-Investment Fund

Mubadala Capital has raised $554M for its first co-investment fund, exceeding its $400M target amid strong global demand for access to the firm’s deal flow.

The Mubadala Capital Co-Investment Fund attracted investors from Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. The Fund will pursue around eight transactions annually, co-investing alongside Abu Dhabi’s $360B sovereign wealth fund, Mubadala Investment Company, and leading global private equity firms.

The vehicle will primarily focus on opportunities in North America and Europe, which has already begun deploying capital.

Fatima Al-Noaimi, co-head of Mubadala Capital Solutions, said the fund was launched in response to rising investor appetite for high-quality co-investment opportunities, while co-head Maxime Franzetti noted that the raise marked one of the firm’s fastest fundraisings despite challenging market conditions.

Mubadala Capital, the external asset management arm of Mubadala Investment Company, manages approximately $30B and was the first sovereign wealth fund platform to raise third-party capital.

The firm is now preparing to launch a second co-investment fund as it continues to expand access to Mubadala’s global investment platform.
