Luma AI, the frontier AI firm building multimodal AGI, announced the intention to open a dedicated office in the Saudi capital, Riyadh. The move marks a significant expansion of its presence in the MENA and acceleration of HUMAIN Create.
Aims of Riyadh Office
Luma AI’s Riyadh office is looking to deepen Luma AI’s partnership with HUMAIN, supporting the ongoing development of the world’s first Saudi-built, Arabic-native foundation model to be deployed via HUMAIN Create.
HUMAIN Create
HUMAIN Create is HUMAIN’s generative AI initiative and platform, bringing together advanced AI models, tools, and infrastructure. For Luma AI, this office will be a regional hub for client engagement, partnerships, and advanced Ai development.
Amit Jain, CEO and Co-Founder of Luma AI, said “Saudi Arabia is the natural home for our regional headquarters in MENA; the Kingdom has one of the most ambitious and technically capable workforces in the world.”
Jain went on stating how proud Luma AI is to establish their presence in Riyadh, aimed at deepening their partnership.
Project Halo
Concurrently, Tareq Amin – the CEO of HUMAIN – shared the positive news on the move and their joint work on HUMAIN Create: “we are accelerating the development of Arabic-native, culturally fluent AI systems that enable creators, brands, and organisations across the region.”
Luma AI and HUMAIN are working on Project Halo: a large scale 2GW AI supercluster under development in the Kingdom. Luma AI also announced a strategic partnership with Publicis Groupe Middle East alongside HUMAIN.
Luma AI is backed by HUMAIN and NVIDIA.
