Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD) has unveiled “UP by CBD,” a mobile banking solution tailored for micro and small enterprises.
This initiative, launched on 15 July 2026, offers streamlined account setup and comprehensive financial management tools within a single application.
CBD Priorities
The platform features expedited mobile account opening, instant credit access, payroll solutions, seamless transfers, and savings options, designed to foster growth and financial stability for emerging businesses.
UP by CBD is built in partnership with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), integrating with the Dubai Unified Licence (DUL).
This collaboration simplifies the process from business registration to banking activation, thereby enhancing Dubai’s reputation as a premier global business hub, in alignment with the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33.
Startup Activity
The UAE has seen a surge in startup activity, with numerous new businesses entering the marketplace annually.
UP by CBD addresses the challenges faced by small business owners by facilitating quick access to essential financial services, enabling them to operate effectively from day one. The application allows for rapid onboarding through digital verification, connecting directly with licensing authorities for unprecedented ease.
Zero Balance Account
Businesses can access an instant business credit card designed to address initial cash flow needs, enabling owners to manage expenses and support growth from the outset.
The zero balance account, specifically designed for fledgling and growing businesses, eliminates minimum balance requirements, allowing entrepreneurs the flexibility to manage their finances and scale confidently.
UP by CBD not only embodies CBD’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurs throughout their business journey but also reinforces the bank’s five-decade legacy of facilitating business expansion in the UAE. This mobile banking solution operates within CBD’s established frameworks while linking entrepreneurs to broader support networks, including initiatives like Dubai Founders HQ and ‘SME in a Box’.
These resources aim to empower businesses as they navigate Dubai’s competitive landscape.
