Dubai’s Department of Finance (DOF) has introduced ASCEND, an AI-driven platform designed to automate compliance verification in public finance. The system was unveiled during the inaugural Dubai AI Week.

ASCEND utilises large language models and retrieval-augmented generation to analyse legal texts and financial procedures, identifying risks and aligning key performance indicators with regulatory frameworks. The platform generates structured, bilingual compliance reports and is hosted on UAE-based cloud infrastructure to meet national data security standards.

DOF officials state that ASCEND aims to replace manual compliance assessments with real-time, autonomous evaluations, enhancing operational efficiency and financial governance.

The launch aligns with the UAE’s broader AI strategy, which seeks to integrate artificial intelligence into government operations and position the country as a leader in AI adoption.
