Abu Dhabi-based Waha Capital has been included in the newly launched FTSE ADX Dividend Stars Index, the region’s first equity benchmark dedicated to income-focused investors.
Income-Focused Benchmark Launched
The index was introduced in December 2025 by the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) in partnership with FTSE Russell. It comprises 17 companies that collectively accounted for more than 70% of total cash dividends distributed by ADX-listed firms in 2025.
Designed to highlight companies with strong and consistent dividend profiles, the index provides a transparent benchmark for institutional and income-oriented investors.
Management Highlights Dividend Strength
Mohamed Hussain Al Nowais, Managing Director of Waha Capital, said the company’s inclusion reflects the strength and sustainability of its earnings and dividend profile, supported by a diversified business model and disciplined capital allocation.
He added that Waha Capital remains focused on delivering long-term value and reliable income as Abu Dhabi’s capital markets attract increasing global investor interest.
Strong Dividend Track Record
Waha Capital has built a consistent dividend history underpinned by solid cash generation across its investment platform. In 2024, the company declared a cash dividend of 10 fils per share based on its net profit.
Broad Sector Representation
The FTSE ADX Dividend Stars Index spans multiple sectors, including financials, energy, industrials, consumer sectors and basic materials. It uses the FTSE Target Diversification methodology to balance quality, concentration and income stability.
Solid Financial Performance in 2025
Waha Capital’s inclusion follows a strong performance in 2025, with net profit attributable to shareholders rising 22% year-on-year to AED 343 million in the first nine months of the year.
Earnings growth was driven by recurring income from Waha Investment, value realisation across its private investments portfolio, and asset monetisation and rental income from Waha Land, its industrial and logistics platform.
