16 March 2026: Dubai Media Authorities confirmed that an intercepted Iranian UAV had impacted an oil tanker in the facility of Dubai International Airport in the early hours this morning.
This is the third confirmed drone incident within the radius of DXB since the war began.
On 1 March, intercepted projectiles fell within the concourse area of DXB. By the 11 March, two drone incidents occurred near the airport, injuring four people.
“A drone incident in the vicinity of Dubai International Airport (DXB) affected one of the fuel tanks. Dubai Civil Defence teams are currently working to bring the fire under control. No injuries have been reported so far,” said the Dubai Media Office.
Emirates temporarily suspended flights with inbound flights rerouted to Al-Maktoum International, delayed, or rescheduled until further notice.
