Khaldoon Al-Mubarak, the CEO of Chair of Abu Dhabi’s leading SWF Mubadala, became Chair of the World Economic Forum’s top business council this week in Davos.
Mubadala oversees AUM totalling $305B, putting the Emirati capital in charge of the Emirates’ diversification efforts. Mubadala holds significant stakes in G42, ADNOC, and Manchester City Football Group.
Al-Mubarak also chairs Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) whilst he also sits on the boards of ADNOC and G42 in addition to serving as UAE President Special Envoy to China.
He also chairs City Football Group: the owner of Manchester City FC and 12 other clubs worldwide. The sports empire is valued at +$6B. His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al-Nahyan owns Manchester City FC.
Al-Mubarak’s appointment is interpreted as confirmation of his growing success as one of the UAE’s chosen economic titans.
