Asad Ahmed joins the Finance Middle East Awards 2024 jury panel

An independent panel of expert judges will decide on the winners in each of the 15 categories.

Asad Ahmed, Managing Director at Alvarez & Marsal, was revealed as a member of the illustrious jury panel judging the inaugural edition of the Finance Middle East Awards set to take place on May 15.

About Ahmed

Asad Ahmed is the Managing Director and Head of Middle East Financial Services at Alvarez & Marsal in Dubai. He has more than 30 years of experience in banking, credit management, formulating and managing strategic and operational changes in financial institutions.

At A&M, Ahmed has led assignments ranging from operational risk review at a major Gulf bank to corporate debtor advisory. He has also served as interim general manager for one of the largest brokerage firms in the UAE.

Before joining A&M, he was a managing director with Gulf African Bank, the largest Sharia-compliant bank in East Africa. He also worked at the National Bank of Fujairah, last serving as General Manager.

Earlier, Ahmed worked for nine years with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, co-leading a team that successfully established new lines of business and increased non-traditional lending to intellectual property-based businesses.

A Canadian national, Ahmed earned an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the US, a Certified Credit Professional (CCP) from the Credit Institute of Canada, and a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers (FICB).

He has served on the Governing Council of the Kenya Bankers Association and the Board of Nairobi Hospice.

Finance Middle East Awards

The inaugural Finance Middle East Awards will debut on May 15. It will gather over 200 leading banking and finance executives to celebrate outstanding achievements within the DIFC (Dubai International Financial Centre) and the wider GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) region.

An independent panel of expert judges will decide on the winners in each of the 15 categories. The winning nominees will be announced during a gala dinner celebration at a luxurious venue in May.

Submitting nominations is free; executives have until March 29 to enter the awards. Shortlisted nominees will be announced in April, and the winners will be crowned on May 15.
