The ADGM Arbitration Centre has unveiled ODR@ADGM, an online digitalised dispute settlement and mediation services platform. This innovative platform enables parties worldwide to resolve disputes through self-guided negotiations or mediation facilitated by internationally accredited mediators.

Maintaining a strong emphasis on confidentiality and parties’ control over the resolution process, ODR@ADGM offers a secure environment accessible remotely via its website. Parties can initiate dispute submissions, guided by a series of questions that customise a settlement offer for the other party. Upon both parties’ registration, online negotiations commence with flexible deadlines tailored to their needs.

If negotiation fails to achieve a settlement, parties can opt for mediation while retaining control over the outcome. Mediators, ensuring confidentiality and flexibility, actively assist in bridging gaps and reaching mutually acceptable compromises.

The platform provides options for generating a template settlement agreement or crafting a bespoke agreement with legal representation. The streamlined digitalised process aims to save time and costs for parties without disrupting their regular business operations.

“ODR@ADGM is an accessible tool for parties to remain in control of the resolution of their dispute, with accessibility, speed and autonomy as key principles of the platform,” said Linda Fitz-Alan, Registrar and CEO – ADGM Courts. “Importantly, this new platform allows us to continue our mission of expanding the reach of mediation as a preferred form of dispute resolution.”

ADGM remains at the forefront of digital dispute resolution, evident in its recent initiatives such as the launch of “Mediation in the Metaverse” and ADGM Courts’ blockchain technology for global commercial judgments enforcement.
