AD Ports Group announced the completion of a significant corporate restructuring, integrating the assets of Spain-based Noatum Group into its business operations.

Noatum Group, acquired in 2023 for Dh2.65 billion ($720 million), operates across 32 countries with 16 terminals in Spain. Its integration into AD Ports Group has created efficiencies and synergies, supporting international growth initiatives and enhancing operational capacity.

Under the restructuring, Noatum’s corporate head office in Spain has been integrated into AD Ports Group’s verticals:

  • Noatum Maritime: The maritime division of Noatum is now fully integrated into SAFEEN Group, which has been rebranded as Noatum Maritime.
  • Noatum Ports: The terminal operations of Noatum have been transitioned into the newly established Noatum Ports, managing current and future international port operations for AD Ports Group.
  • Noatum Logistics: This division took over the day-to-day operations of AD Ports Group’s Logistics Cluster in July 2023.

The integration expands AD Ports Group’s operations to 33 terminals across more than 50 countries. This includes acquisitions such as Dubai-based Global Feeder Shipping for Dh1.9 billion ($510 million) and investments in regions including Egypt, Central Asia, and Sub-Saharan Africa. According to Drewry International, AD Ports Group now ranks among the world’s top 20 container port operators.

“The successful integration of Noatum’s assets marks a major milestone in the corporate development of AD Ports Group, which has evolved under the wise vision of our leadership into a premier global provider of trade, transport and logistics services,” said Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Group CEO and Managing Director of AD Ports Group. “The addition of Noatum’s international brand equity, global networks, customer relationships, and assets has not only strengthened and broadened the economic horizons of our Group, but it has positioned AD Ports Group for its next stage of growth.”

A key focus of the restructuring is maximising shareholder value through collaboration and synergies across business clusters. Initiatives such as cross-selling, new product development, and market penetration are expected to drive top-and-bottom-line growth.

Captain Al Shamisi added, “We are now entering our next phase of delivering AD Ports Group’s strategy and enabling streamlined execution of our ambitious plans. By fully leveraging the new additions to our Group, we will unlock the full potential of these mergers and acquisitions through synergies that solidify our competitive edge and ensure our continued leadership in existing and new global markets.”

AD Ports Group, established in 2006, is a strategic trade and logistics entity headquartered in Abu Dhabi. The company, 75% owned by ADQ, is listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange.
