The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) has entered into a strategic partnership with Amazon UAE to launch the ‘DET x Amazon Accelerator’.

The initiative is designed to support the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Dubai and enhance their global competitiveness through advanced digital tools, resources, and mentorship.

The accelerator is part of the broader Dubai Traders initiative, one of ten transformative projects that form part of the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33. It focuses on six key pillars to empower SMEs:

  1. Global Reach: Access to Amazon’s global network, allowing sellers to expand beyond the UAE.
  2. Digital Upskilling: Customized workshops by Amazon UAE to teach SMEs how to use Amazon’s tools and strategies.
  3. Tailored Expertise: Personalized guidance from Amazon UAE’s service providers to maximise growth.
  4. Enhanced Visibility: Increased brand visibility through Amazon UAE’s “Shop Local” storefront and exclusive sales events.
  5. Marketing Support: Dedicated Amazon Ads credits to launch impactful marketing campaigns.

The agreement was signed in the presence of Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General of Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, and Ronaldo Mouchawar, Vice President of Amazon Middle East, North Africa, and Türkiye. Hadi Badri, CEO of Dubai Economic Development Corporation (DEDC), and Jasmin Frick, Director of Seller Success at Amazon MENA, formalized the partnership.pansion
