Emirates Development Bank (EDB) has entered a Dh100 million financing agreement with Yellow Door Energy (YDE) to support the development of over 60 solar photovoltaic (PV) plants across the UAE. This funding will expand YDE’s portfolio, allowing for an increase in solar power plant leases through power purchase agreements (PPAs) designed for industrial and commercial clients.
Through this partnership, Yellow Door Energy will offer solar leasing options to key industrial players, granting them long-term access to clean energy and cost-saving benefits while promoting sustainable energy usage in the UAE.
“This collaboration with Yellow Door Energy aligns with our mission to advance the UAE’s renewable energy goals and support its path toward net-zero,” said Ahmed Mohamed Al Naqbi, CEO of EDB. “By enabling businesses to transition to clean energy, we’re contributing to sustainable growth and economic diversification in line with national priorities.”
Jeremy Crane, Group CEO of Yellow Door Energy, said, “Our partnership with EDB strengthens our ability to expand solar projects in the UAE, providing businesses with solutions to reduce energy costs and support sustainability goals.”
