The Federal National Council (FNC) has approved the Union General Budget and the budgets of independent federal entities for the fiscal year 2025 during its second ordinary session of the 18th legislative chapter.
The Union General Budget totals Dh71.5 billion in revenues and expenditures, maintaining a balanced approach between income and spending. It marks the largest budget in the UAE’s history and allocates funds across social development, government affairs, economic affairs and other sectors.
Key allocations include Dh27.85 billion (39% of the budget) for the social development sector. This includes Dh9.99 billion for public and higher education, Dh5.50 billion for healthcare and community prevention, and Dh8.95 billion for social care.
Other allocations include Dh1.28 billion for culture and arts, Dh660 million for housing, Dh8.12 billion for defence affairs, Dh8.179 billion for public affairs and safety, Dh2.52 billion for economic affairs, and Dh23.43 billion for public services.
