UAE stock markets record Dh257 billion growth in market cap in 2024

By the end of 2024, the combined market capitalisation of ADX and DFM reached Dh3.90 trillion.

The UAE’s stock markets reported significant growth in 2024, driven by strong economic performance, increased foreign investments, and a surge in IPO activity. The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) and the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) saw notable gains in market capitalisation and trading volumes, solidifying the UAE’s status as a key investment destination.

By the end of 2024, the combined market capitalisation of ADX and DFM reached Dh3.90 trillion, a gain of Dh257 billion compared to Dh3.648 trillion at the close of 2023.

The ADX’s market capitalisation rose to Dh2.99 trillion, up from Dh2.96 trillion at the end of 2023, while the DFM’s market cap grew to Dh906.91 billion, up from Dh687.5 billion during the same period.

Trading activity across the two markets exceeded Dh449 billion in 2024, with Dh342.4 billion on ADX and Dh106.7 billion on DFM. The total volume of shares traded surpassed 142 billion, including 90.16 billion shares on ADX and 51.85 billion shares on DFM, executed through 7.2 million transactions.

The FTSE ADX General Index closed the year at 9,414.460 points, while the DFM General Index ended 2024 above 5,158.670 points.
