CYVN Holdings and Bahrain’s Mumtalakat have completed the acquisition of McLaren Automotive and a non-controlling stake in McLaren Racing, formalising a strategic partnership announced in December 2024.
The deal gives Abu Dhabi-based CYVN Holdings full ownership of McLaren Automotive and a minority interest in McLaren Racing. Mumtalakat, Bahrain’s sovereign wealth fund and long-time majority shareholder in McLaren Group, remains a significant investor in McLaren’s racing operations.
The transaction was subject to regulatory approvals and closing conditions. It aligns with CYVN’s strategy to expand its global mobility platform and with Mumtalakat’s focus on optimising its portfolio for long-term returns.
McLaren Automotive, known for its high-performance supercars, and McLaren Racing, which includes the Formula 1 team, continue to operate under the McLaren Group umbrella with adjusted ownership.
