Saudia Group has finalised an agreement with Airbus to acquire up to 20 A330neo wide-body aircraft, including 10 firm orders for its low-cost subsidiary, flyadeal. The deal was signed at Airbus’s facility in Toulouse, France, with deliveries scheduled between 2027 and 2029.

This order builds upon Saudia Group’s previous commitment in May 2024, when it ordered 105 Airbus A320neo family aircraft, comprising 12 A320neos and 93 A321neos. The addition of A330neo aircraft marks flyadeal’s entry into long-haul operations, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to connect 250 destinations and accommodate over 330 million travellers annually. The A330neo aircraft are powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines and can fly up to 7,200 nautical miles. Flyadeal plans to deploy these aircraft on routes to Southeast Asia, including destinations such as Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

Saudia Group currently operates a fleet of 194 aircraft across its commercial, cargo, and logistics divisions. With this new order, the group has 191 aircraft scheduled for delivery in the coming years, supporting its strategy to modernise its fleet and expand its global reach.
