Abu Dhabi Chamber’s Al Ain branch has launched a field‑visit programme targeting small and medium enterprises in retail, tourism and agriculture. The aim is to gather ground‑level intelligence to inform trade policy and support services.

Since July 15, the Chamber team has conducted visits to nine local businesses, ranging from major malls to niche, community-driven ventures.

Business owners reportedly welcomed the initiative as a practical step towards addressing operational challenges. According to Shamis Ali Al Dhaheri, the Chamber’s second vice‑chairman and managing director, the visits are intended to build trust, generate “actionable insights” and shape trade measures that support entrepreneurship.

The Chamber has already identified nine priority areas for improving the regional business environment, though specific measures are not yet disclosed . The objective is to refine support programmes based on real‑time needs and reinforce Al Ain’s role within Abu Dhabi’s economy, particularly as the capital looks to diversify away from oil and boost private‑sector growth.

This initiative complements broader efforts in Abu Dhabi, such as the centralised business registration system under the Abu Dhabi Registration Authority, designed to streamline operations, attract investment and bolster non‑oil sectors, including tourism and logistics.

Next steps include translating field insights into targeted policy adjustments and roll‑out of tailored programmes via the Chamber’s regional branch network.
