ADNOC Distribution reported a record net profit of $568M for the first half of 2026, marking a 59% increase year-on-year. This impressive performance underscores the company’s robust operational strategies amid resilient fuel demand and a strong expansion of its network and non-fuel retail (NFR) segment.
The reported EBITDA also saw a significant uplift of 39%, reaching $786M, driven by record fuel volumes and strategic growth initiatives.
MENA Expansion
During the first six months of this year, the company achieved fuel volumes of 7.75B litres, supported by the opening of new service stations, which increased by 11% to 1,045 across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.
ADNOC Distribution started operations in Saudi Arabia (2018) and Egypt (2023) before announcing the set acquisition in South Africa (2027).
The NFR segment has notably contributed to ADNOC Distribution’s performance, with gross profit increasing by 12%, attributed to an expanded customer offering and higher footfall.
Diversification
ADNOC Distribution has outlined a growth strategy underpinned by several key initiatives, including the establishment of the region’s largest electric vehicle mega-hub and a strategic partnership with Americana Restaurants.
The integration of these initiatives aims to diversify revenue streams and enhance shareholder value.
The introduction of Engage by ADNOC, the UAE’s first full-funnel retail media network, further demonstrates the company’s commitment to leveraging digital capabilities to create new revenue opportunities.
South Africa Acquisition
ADNOC Distribution is also advancing its international expansion plans, having entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Shell’s downstream business in South Africa for an implied enterprise value of $1B.
This acquisition is expected to enhance its market position and deliver a 6% uplift in earnings per share upon completion, anticipated in 2027.
The company’s Board of Directors has also approved a dividend of 5.14 fils per share, totalling $175M, reinforcing its commitment to returning value to shareholders.
