#IWillSurvive: Emirates NBD and Dubai Police collaborate for safe banking campaign, watch video here

The initiative builds upon Emirates NBD’s longstanding partnership with Dubai Police

Emirates NBD has announced a collaborative effort with Dubai Police and Leo Burnett to launch a comprehensive safe banking campaign across the UAE.

Themed #IWillSurvive, the campaign’s primary goal is to enhance public awareness of cybersecurity, urging customers to actively report any fraudulent activities or attempts.

#IWillSurvive

The initiative builds upon Emirates NBD’s longstanding partnership with Dubai Police, demonstrating a shared commitment to creating a secure banking environment for UAE customers.

The public service campaign, a testament to Emirates NBD’s dedication to safe banking, features a shareable and upbeat video set to the tune of Gloria Gaynor’s popular 80s song, ‘I Will Survive.’ The video showcases Dubai Police officers and vehicles and narrates the fraud journey of victims whose reporting led to the arrest of scammers. The underlying message encourages people and businesses to report both successful and attempted fraud to banks, the police, and social media platforms. Dubai Police staff actively participate in the video to emphasise the collaborative effort.

This campaign follows the success of previous Emirates NBD initiatives, including anti-phishing campaigns in 2021 and the viral #secureyouraccount video in 2019. The bank remains committed to protecting customers by reinforcing its infrastructure, digital processes, and analytics for digital banking transactions.

Emirates NBD on safe banking

Emirates NBD regularly conducts email and SMS campaigns and uses its social media platforms to educate customers on recognising new scams and staying alert. The bank’s website prominently displays useful tips on safeguarding personal information and adopting safe banking practices, accompanied by frequent reminders on its digital platforms.

As the UAE faces a rising number of cyber-attacks, with over 71 million prevented in the first three quarters of 2023, Emirates NBD emphasises the human factor as a significant vulnerability.

The bank and Dubai Police urge customers and businesses to report any attempted cyberattacks. Abdulla Qassem, Group Chief Operating Officer at Emirates NBD, emphasises the importance of fraud reporting as a defence against cyber threats, citing a humorous and memorable video as part of the latest campaign.

Emirates NBD’s commitment to cybersecurity is evident in its success at the 2022 International Cyber League Competition, where the bank outperformed 200 teams globally.

The public is encouraged to report suspicious links or emails related to their bank accounts to their respective bank’s call centre and Dubai Police.
