Ripple has obtained approval from the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) to provide regulated cryptocurrency payment services within the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).

This approval positions Ripple as the first blockchain-enabled payments provider licensed by the DFSA. The license enables Ripple to offer its global blockchain-based payment solutions to businesses across the UAE, catering to financial institutions seeking to leverage digital assets for real-world applications.

Since establishing its Middle East headquarters in DIFC in 2020, Ripple has deepened its regional presence, with approximately 20% of its global customer base operating in the Middle East. This regulatory approval is expected to further accelerate Ripple’s growth and innovation in this high-potential market.

In December 2024, Ripple launched its USD-denominated stablecoin, RLUSD, on global exchanges to enhance cross-border payment solutions.

These developments underscore Ripple’s commitment to regulatory compliance and its role as a trusted partner for financial institutions seeking to utilise digital assets effectively.
