The Abu Dhabi Government announced the “Abu Dhabi Government Digital Strategy 2025-2027,” aiming to become the world’s first fully AI-native government by 2027. In collaboration with local government entities, the Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi (DGE) will implement the strategy, allocating Dh13 billion (approximately $3.54 billion) to enhance digital infrastructure and promote technology adoption.

The strategy focuses on achieving 100% adoption of sovereign cloud computing for government operations and fully digitising and automating all processes. It includes developing a unified digital enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform to streamline operations and improve efficiency.

As part of the “AI for All” program, the government plans to train citizens in AI applications and implement over 200 AI solutions across government services. The initiative is expected to contribute more than Dh24 billion (approximately $6.53 billion) to Abu Dhabi’s GDP by 2027 and create over 5,000 jobs, supporting Emiratisation efforts.

“The Abu Dhabi Government Digital Strategy 2025-2027 reflects our leadership’s vision of being an AI-native government, seamlessly integrating AI across all government systems for a future that is proactive, agile and fully technology-enabled,” said HE Ahmed Hisham Al Kuttab, Chairman of the DGE.

This initiative builds upon previous digital advancements, such as the TAMM 3.0 platform, which offers over 800 government services, and the Abu Dhabi Program for Effortless Customer Experience.

The strategy also emphasises developing robust digital guidelines and frameworks to ensure high cybersecurity standards, anticipating and addressing future challenges effectively.

In line with these efforts, Abu Dhabi has been actively investing in AI technologies. Notably, Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed al Nahyan, the UAE’s national security adviser, has directed significant resources towards making Abu Dhabi a global AI hub, including partnerships with American tech firms.
