Dubai has introduced the Dubai AI Seal to certify and promote trustworthy artificial intelligence (AI) companies, aiming to strengthen the city’s position as a global AI leader. This initiative, launched by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI), aligns with the Dubai Universal Blueprint for AI and seeks to foster robust partnerships between government entities and technology firms.
The Dubai AI Seal will be awarded to certified companies, each receiving a unique serial number and classification. Certification is mandatory for companies aspiring to partner in UAE and Dubai government projects. Certified entities can display the seal across their digital platforms and promotional materials, highlighting their credibility. All technology companies licensed in Dubai offering AI-related products or services are invited to apply for certification at no cost. Evaluations will consider the nature of services, the number of AI-specialized employees, current and future projects, and existing public and private sector partnerships.
HE Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation, overseeing DCAI, stated, “This initiative will help create powerful partnerships between the public and private sectors, locally, regionally, and globally. It will help drive new economic opportunities by leveraging AI to better serve the economy, society, and the future we aspire to.”
The Dubai AI Seal aims to provide a reliable verification method for AI service providers, generate business opportunities for AI companies in Dubai, and acknowledge the strategic importance of AI to the city’s economy. This initiative underscores the economic significance of the AI sector, its potential to create new employment opportunities, and its role in strengthening alliances between government bodies and technology companies.
The DCAI, launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum at AREA2071 in Emirates Towers, supports government entities in adopting advanced technologies. The centre focuses on developing legislation for AI applications, attracting global AI solutions, empowering national talent, and enhancing the quality of life for Dubai’s residents through AI.
