AviLease, a company backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, has announced the acquisition of nine aircraft from Avolon, a global aircraft leasing firm. This deal follows AviLease’s purchase of 13 aircraft from Avolon last year.

“In the two years since our launch, AviLease has been able to quickly operationalize and ramp up a profitable leasing platform, thanks to our ability to deploy capital across multiple channels,” said AviLease CEO Edward O’Byrne .

With this latest acquisition, AviLease’s portfolio now includes 167 owned aircraft, along with 23 managed aircraft leased to 48 airlines worldwide.

Avolon CEO Andy Cronin said that he was delighted to be partnering with AviLease following the transaction in 2023. He added that “trading aircraft has always been an important element of our strategy, with over $13 billion of assets traded since Avolon was founded.”
