Bechtel has been appointed as the delivery partner for developing three new terminals at King Salman International Airport (KSIA) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The agreement was signed with the King Salman International Airport Development Company (KSIADC), a wholly owned Public Investment Fund subsidiary (PIF) subsidiary, during the Saudi–US Investment Forum.

Under the terms of the agreement, Bechtel will manage the design and construction of a new terminal for commercial airlines, Terminal 6 for low-cost carriers, and a terminal dedicated to private aviation, which will include aircraft maintenance facilities.

The KSIA project is part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative, aiming to transform Riyadh into a global transportation hub. The airport is planned to cover an area of approximately 57 square kilometres. It is expected to handle up to 120 million passengers annually by 2030, with a long-term goal of reaching 185 million passengers per year by 2050.

Bechtel’s role in the KSIA project adds to its portfolio of infrastructure projects in the Middle East, including previous work on the Riyadh Metro and various airport developments in the region.

The new terminals at KSIA are designed to meet LEED Platinum certification standards, aligning with global sustainability benchmarks. The project will enhance Riyadh’s connectivity and support the kingdom’s broader economic diversification efforts.
