Investcorp Capital names Sana Khater as CEO, replacing Mohamed Aamer

Khater brings over three decades of experience in senior finance roles across public and private firms in the Gulf.

Investcorp Capital has appointed Sana Khater as its new chief executive, effective September 1, according to a company statement. She replaces Mohamed Aamer at the helm of the Abu Dhabi-listed alternative investment firm.

Khater brings over three decades of experience in senior finance roles across public and private firms in the Gulf. She was most recently the Executive Director of Finance at Aldar Properties and earlier spent a decade at Waha Capital, leaving the Abu Dhabi-listed investment firm as its Chief Financial Officer.

Her earlier roles include senior finance positions at NBK Capital and the National Bank of Kuwait, where she also served as CFO.

Investcorp Capital is a subsidiary of the Bahrain-based Investcorp Group, focusing on capital financing and asset-based investment strategies. The firm was listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange in 2023 and reported total assets under management of around $55 billion as of its latest filings.

The leadership change comes as Investcorp Capital seeks to expand its alternative investment platform across the Gulf and beyond. The firm has recently been involved in several regional debt and private credit transactions, positioning itself to benefit from growing institutional appetite for non-traditional asset classes.
