Investcorp and Corsair Capital have announced Investcorp’s debut in the global infrastructure investment asset class. This move comes after acquiring a 50% stake in Corsair’s infrastructure business through establishing Investcorp Corsair Infrastructure Partners.
Investcorp Corsair, jointly owned by Investcorp and Corsair, encompasses the Infrastructure Business’ existing funds, investments, and team. It is designed to pursue an investment strategy in transportation, logistics, and associated infrastructure subsectors, aiming to capitalise on the increasing demand for infrastructure assets worldwide, Investcopr said in a statement on Tuesday.
Leveraging Corsair and Investcorp’s private markets experience, Investcorp Corsair will adopt a unique model combining operating platforms with equity sponsorship. Notably, it is prominent in infrastructure investing, having been involved in significant projects such as the redevelopment of John F. Kennedy International Airport Terminal 6 and LaGuardia Airport Terminal B in New York.
Hari Rajan, previously Corsair’s Head of Infrastructure, will be the Managing Partner of Investcorp Corsair, leading the team from New York with additional presence in London, Madrid, and Sydney. The focus will be on maintaining the existing platform companies, portfolio assets, and operational structure while expanding the business globally.
