Mirabaud taps Pictet veteran Gurdeep Bumbra to lead Global Focus equity strategy

This move follows internal promotions at Mirabaud, with Umberto Boccato named CEO and Andrew Lake elevated to CIO.

Mirabaud Asset Management has named Gurdeep Bumbra senior portfolio manager for its global equities business. Based in London, he will take over as lead manager of the firm’s Global Focus equity strategy.

Bumbra brings more than two decades of experience in international equities, most recently as senior investment manager at Pictet Asset Management, where he also led research for its international equities arm. He joins an existing team that includes Paul Middleton, manager of the Global Dividend Fund, and equities analyst Mohamed Hussein.

This move follows internal promotions at Mirabaud, with Umberto Boccato named CEO and Andrew Lake promoted to CIO. Lake said Bumbra’s appointment signals a strategic push to bolster core capabilities through focused, forward-looking strategies.

Bumbra said his decision to join reflects the firm’s commitment to long-term, bottom-up investing, and he sees the current market marked by narrow leadership and high dispersion as a chance to target mispriced opportunities in companies with long-term prospects.

Mirabaud, based in Geneva and founded in 1819, serves clients across wealth management, asset management and brokerage, with a presence in key financial centres including London.
