Space Marketplace, a new platform connecting service seekers, investors and providers in the space industry, has officially launched. The platform aims to drive the Gulf region’s space economy by facilitating collaboration, showcasing services, and integrating space technologies into traditional industries.
Space Marketplace seeks to be the hub for space technology exchange and partnerships in the Gulf. The platform allows space companies to feature services, share case studies, and connect with industries such as agriculture, oil and gas, logistics and urban planning. The goal is to accelerate the adoption of space technologies beyond government contracts and open new commercial opportunities.
“We’re on the brink of an economic boom that is largely being driven by space innovation,” said Alex Cresniov, Founder and CEO of Space Marketplace. “With countries like Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Oman investing heavily in space technologies, now is the perfect time to connect these investments with traditional industries to help them see the benefits. Space Marketplace will serve as the catalyst for this vital connection.”
With the global space economy expected to grow from $630 billion in 2023 to $1.8 trillion by 2035, the Middle East is positioned to play a significant role. Research indicates the Middle East’s space sector could be worth $75 billion by 2032.
Governments in the region are increasingly focused on space initiatives. Saudi Arabia has launched its first Space Accelerator program, while Saudi Aramco is developing a space centre. The UAE’s Space42 is expected to become a leader in satellite development, and Oman is working on a regional spaceport.
“Connecting space technology and innovation with traditional industries is an essential step toward realizing the Gulf’s vision for a diversified economy,” said Cresniov. “Our mission is to foster these connections, provide the platform for collaboration, and ultimately strengthen the Gulf’s role in the $1.8 trillion global space economy.”
Space Marketplace also aims to educate non-space industries about the potential of space technologies, offering specialised programs to drive innovation. Government initiatives, such as Saudi Arabia’s Neo Space Group (NSG), are pushing the region toward becoming leaders in space innovation.
