Türkiye’s trade deficit narrows in July as exports rise

In July, Germany was Türkiye’s main export partner, followed by the UK, the US, Iraq, and Italy.

Türkiye’s trade deficit narrowed to $7.3 billion in July, down from $12.5 billion a year earlier, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute. The decline was driven by a 13.8% annual increase in exports and a 7.8% drop in imports.

In July, Germany was Türkiye’s main export partner, followed by the UK, the US, Iraq, and Italy. Excluding energy products and non-monetary gold, the trade deficit stood at $2.98 billion.

On a seasonally and calendar-adjusted basis, exports rose by 3% from the previous month, while imports decreased by 3.9%.
