UAE hotel revenues reached Dh45 billion in 2024

The country added 16 new hotels during the year, bringing the total to 1,251 establishments with 216,966 rooms.

The UAE’s hotel sector generated approximately Dh45 billion in revenues in 2024, marking a 3% increase from the previous year, according to Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Emirates Tourism Council. Hotel occupancy rates rose to 78%, positioning the UAE among the leaders both regionally and globally.

The country added 16 new hotels during the year, bringing the total to 1,251 establishments with 216,966 rooms, a 3% growth in room capacity.

Hotel guest numbers reached approximately 30.8 million in 2024, reflecting a 9.5% increase and achieving 77% of the ‘National Tourism Strategy 2031’ target ahead of schedule. The strategy aims to attract 40 million hotel guests and boost tourism’s GDP contribution to Dh450 billion by 2031.

The UAE plans to launch various events and tourism campaigns in 2025, including initiatives highlighting Al Ain’s designation as the Gulf Tourism Capital for the year.
