HE Ahmed Mohamed Al Naqbi, a prominent figure in the UAE’s banking and finance industry, leads EDB, the nation’s sole development bank, pivotal in driving economic growth and industrial progress. Under his leadership, EDB aims to provide Dh30 billion in financing support to 13,500 companies within its priority sectors by 2026. Al Naqbi’s strategic approach includes offering patient debt with flexible pricing and tailored financing solutions, particularly for MSMEs, to bridge lending gaps and enhance access to capital.

With nearly two decades of experience in the financial sector, Al Naqbi is recognised for his financial acumen and contributions to the UAE’s business community. Before joining EDB, he held key positions at the National Bank of Abu Dhabi and First Abu Dhabi Bank. Al Naqbi is an alumnus of Harvard Business School and Virginia Tech’s School of Architecture and Urban Studies, USA.
