Foreign and institutional investors have significantly increased their investments in UAE equities, reaching Dh25.6 billion in the first ten months of 2024.
Net foreign and institutional investments in UAE stock markets hit Dh25.6 billion from January to October 2024, with Dh23 billion flowing into the Abu Dhabi market and Dh2.6 billion into the Dubai market.
According to official data from both markets, foreign investors, including Arabs and non-Arabs, emerged as net buyers, investing Dh22.1 billion. They purchased shares worth Dh158.2 billion, while sales amounted to Dh136.1 billion.
In the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX), foreign investors bought Dh118.7 billion in shares and sold Dh97.8 billion, resulting in a net investment of Dh22.1 billion during this period. Similarly, in the Dubai Financial Market (DFM), foreign purchases reached Dh39.5 billion against sales of Dh38.2 billion, with a net investment of Dh1.3 billion.
Institutional investors also showed strong activity, being net buyers of local equities worth over Dh3.46 billion since the start of the year. Their total purchases amounted to Dh273.7 billion, with sales at Dh270.3 billion.
Institutions invested more than Dh2.18 billion in ADX alone, with purchases totalling Dh231.8 billion against Dh229.7 billion in sales. Meanwhile, on the DFM, institutional investors made a net purchase of Dh1.27 billion, with purchases of Dh41.9 billion and sales of Dh40.6 billion.
