Red Sea Global (RSG) has announced Laheq Island, its inaugural residential-centric project within The Red Sea development. Laheq Island spans 400 hectares and is situated within a 92-island archipelago along Saudi Arabia’s western coastline. The development, scheduled to open in 2028, will feature private residences, hospitality venues, and recreational facilities.

The island’s master plan, conceived by architectural firm Foster + Partners, includes “The Ring,” an 800-meter structure encircling the island’s lagoon, housing apartments, hotels, and retail spaces.

Amenities and facilities

Laheq Island will offer a 115-berth marina, sailing and watersports schools, a racket club, fitness center, sports field, an 18-hole golf course, and a marketplace. Dining options will range from beach clubs to various restaurants.

Aligned with RSG’s regenerative tourism strategy, Laheq Island will operate entirely on renewable energy. The project contributes to RSG’s commitment to plant and preserve 50 million mangroves and regenerate coral reefs in the Red Sea.

Laheq Island represents RSG’s expansion beyond Phase One of The Red Sea, which currently includes five operational hotels and a dedicated airport. The development supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 objectives of economic diversification and enhancing quality of life.
