Standard Chartered appointed Manus Costello as its permanent chief financial officer, following the resignation of Diego De Giorgi in February after nearly three years.
De Giorgi departed to join Apollo Global Management as head of the EMEA region. The bank had initially named Peter Burrill as interim CFO until a permanent replacement could be found.
Costello will assume the role of Group CFO effective immediately and will join the board as an executive director, pending regulatory approvals.
Costello joined Standard Chartered in 2024 as the global head of investor relations and brings over 25 years of experience in equity research, including a significant tenure at Autonomous and Merrill Lynch in both London and New York.
Based in London, Costello will report directly to Chief Executive Officer Bill Winters.
