The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has issued a warning calling on establishments subject to withholding tax in the Kingdom to submit their tax returns for February, no later than March 10.
Businesses that fail to submit their returns within the deadline will be subject to fines of 1% of the unpaid tax for every 30 days of delay, the authority said.
Taxpayers may do so through the authority’s website to avoid fines.
ZATCA called on taxpayers from the business sector wishing to obtain more information regarding the withholding tax to contact it on the unified call centre number (19993), which operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, or the “Ask Zakat, Tax and Customs” account.
Withholding tax is imposed on all amounts paid from a source in the Kingdom to non-resident parties in the Kingdom, following the rates specified in Article 68 of the Income Tax Law and Article 63 of its Executive Regulations.
