The Abu Dhabi Business Centre at the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) has expanded the Tajer Abu Dhabi licence to include 12 additional economic activities. This licence allows investors to obtain an economic licence without the requirement of a physical location or commercial rent for three years.

The newly added activities include maritime consultancy services, tourism and recreation consultancy, analysis of accountancy and auditing systems, logistics consultancy, statistical services consultancy, network consultancy, agricultural extension services, textiles and wearing apparel, silk-screen printing, and design and artwork services.

The Tajer Abu Dhabi licence enables both UAE Nationals and residents to operate businesses without a physical headquarters for the first three years, adhering to the regulations and necessary approvals. Since its introduction in 2017, the Tajer Abu Dhabi licence has grown from 30 to 1,200 activities, representing 30% of 3,982 economic activities licensed and regulated by ADDED as of the end of 2023.

In 2023, 5,989 new licences were issued under the Tajer Abu Dhabi category, making up more than 23% of all new economic licences in the emirate. The initiative aims to facilitate business setup and support economic activity and development in Abu Dhabi.
