Abu Dhabi’s non-oil foreign trade increased by 9% in 2024, reaching Dh306 billion, up from Dh281.9 billion in 2023, according to Abu Dhabi Customs.
Non-oil exports rose 16% to Dh107.8 billion from Dh93 billion, while re-exports grew 11% to over Dh58 billion from Dh52.4 billion. Imports increased by 3% to Dh140.2 billion from Dh136.4 billion.
The growth is attributed to Abu Dhabi’s business-friendly environment, proactive policies, and trade facilitation initiatives to reduce costs and simplify procedures. Customs declarations increased by 3%, digital platform transactions grew by 17%, and automated transactions rose by 31%.
This performance aligns with the UAE’s broader trade expansion. The nation’s non-oil trade reached a record Dh3 trillion in 2024, a 14.6% increase from the previous year. The UAE has been leveraging Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements to diversify its economy and enhance global trade relations.
