Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du) announced plans to develop a hyperscale data centre in Dubai, valued at Dh2 billion ($544.54 million), in collaboration with Microsoft. The announcement was made during Dubai AI Week 2025 and witnessed by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.
The facility will be constructed in phases to accommodate the growing demand for cloud services and AI capabilities. Microsoft will serve as the primary tenant, utilising the centre to support its cloud infrastructure and digital services.
This initiative aligns with the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence, launched in 2024, which aims to develop national talent, integrate AI into government services, and expand data centre infrastructure in the emirate.
Currently, du operates five data centres across the UAE.
