Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Al Khateeb, stated that the Kingdom aims to attract 70 million tourists annually by 2030, positioning it among the top seven global tourist destinations.

Al Khateeb highlighted the introduction of e-visas and the development of new airports, such as King Salman International Airport, projected to accommodate over 120 million travellers, as key initiatives to enhance the tourist experience. Additionally, the launch of Riyadh Air is expected to further support these objectives.

European Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, commended Saudi Arabia’s advancements in the tourism sector, noting the Kingdom’s collaboration with various destinations and countries.

These efforts align with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative, which aims to diversify the economy and reduce dependence on oil revenues. The Kingdom plans to invest $1 trillion into the tourism sector over the next decade, boosting its contribution to more than 10% of GDP by 2030.
