Qatar, Türkiye join regional industrial partnership with $2 billion projects to boost supply chains

Qatar and Türkiye have joined the Integrated Industrial Partnership for Sustainable Economic Development, expanding the initiative to seven member nations since its launch in Abu Dhabi in 2022. The announcement, made at the fifth meeting of the Higher Committee in Doha, aims to enhance industrial integration and regional cooperation.

Key announcements included strategic projects worth over $2 billion across metals, pharmaceuticals, and plastics.

  • Bahrain Steel and Qatar: $1.3 billion raw material supply agreement for 5 million metric tonnes over five years.
  • ISC Capital (UAE) and Peninsula Farms (Bahrain): $10 million investment in sustainable microalgae production in Bahrain.
  • Giza Cable Accessories (Egypt): $7 million investment for a new facility in the UAE.
  • Jordan’s Exceed Industries and Egypt’s Delta El Nile: $10 million contracts for PET plastic containers and caps for UAE’s Hayatna-National Dairy.
  • UAE’s National Feed Factory and Qatar’s Al Rayyan Horse Essentials: $15 million animal feed supply deal.
  • Globalpharma (UAE) and Zenith Pharma (Morocco): $50 million pharmaceutical production and technology transfer partnership.

Mubadala Investment Company (UAE) also announced acquisitions of Egypt’s Adwia Pharmaceuticals and Morocco’s PHI to expand regional pharmaceutical investments.

The partnership focuses on supply chain resilience, job creation, and sustainability, aiming to reduce import reliance and boost industrial self-sufficiency. Projects in renewable energy, food security, and advanced manufacturing are priorities.

Qatar aims to raise its industrial contribution to QAR 70.5 billion by 2030 through its National Strategy for Manufacturing Industries. Türkiye, with its $1.1 trillion economy, offers access to markets with over 1.3 billion consumers and free trade agreements enhancing its industrial role.
