BOLD Technologies and My Aion Inc. have announced a $2.5 billion Build-Operate-Transfer partnership to develop AION SENTIA Cognitive City, an artificial intelligence platform that manages complex urban systems. The project will be headquartered in Abu Dhabi.
The platform, which uses My Aion’s proprietary MAIA AI engine, will integrate services across mobility, energy, education, healthcare, and digital infrastructure. The initial deployment will take place in the UAE, with further international expansion planned.
The venture was announced during an event at Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi attended by over 100 representatives from global companies and institutions, including Sequoia Capital, ADNOC, G42, Amazon, TikTok, Fincantieri, Stellantis, and government stakeholders.
Abu Dhabi was selected as the operational base due to its regulatory framework, cybersecurity standards, and digital infrastructure. My Aion will relocate its global operations and workforce 63 to the UAE.
The project includes plans to partner with UAE universities to offer AI training and upskilling programmes for the national workforce. It aligns with the country’s digital transformation agenda and aims to support employment, industrial development, and domestic AI capacity.
Founded in 2023, BOLD Technologies is one of eight subsidiaries of BOLD Holding, with activities spanning AI, energy, construction, oil and gas, and trading. My Aion Inc., founded in 2020, operates in the US, UK, Italy, Latvia, and Monaco.
The AION SENTIA platform will use sensor networks and data analytics to support urban planning and operations. Additional phases of development will target regional and global urban deployments.
