Saudi Arabia’s non-oil exports, including re-exports, rose 6% year-on-year in May 2025 to SAR 31.1 billion, according to data released by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT). Total merchandise exports reached SAR90.4 billion, while imports climbed 7.8% to SAR80.9 billion.

Machinery, electrical equipment, and parts remained the largest component of non-oil exports, accounting for SAR 7.4 billion, or 23.7% of the total. The same category represented 29.7% of total imports, valued at SAR 24 billion.

China maintained its position as Saudi Arabia’s top trading partner. Exports to China totalled SAR 12.7 billion, accounting for 14% of total exports, while imports from China reached SAR 23.4 billion, representing nearly 29% of total imports.

The statistics are based on data from the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority for non-oil trade and the Ministry of Energy for oil exports. Merchandise trade is classified under the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System 2022.

The data underscores the Kingdom’s ongoing trade diversification under Vision 2030, which includes expanding non-oil export sectors and deepening bilateral trade relations, particularly with China, its largest non-oil trading partner.
