Egypt’s agricultural exports reach $2.9 billion in H1 2024

Egypt’s exports of agricultural products rose by $600 million in the first half of the year.

Egypt’s Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk has announced that the country’s agricultural exports reached 4.9 million tonnes, valued at $2.9 billion, in the first half of this year. This marks a $600 million increase compared to the same period last year.

Minister Farouk emphasised the ongoing support for the export system to meet the presidential objective of achieving $100 billion in Egyptian exports across all sectors by 2030. He highlighted the significance of the agricultural sector as a crucial contributor to Egypt’s national income.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Agriculture, Egyptian agricultural products are exported to over 160 countries and include more than 350 different agricultural commodities.
