Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy supported establishing and expanding 127 digital startups in the first quarter of 2025, marking a 135% increase over the same period last year, according to a statement released on Tuesday.

The chamber, one of three operating under Dubai Chambers, said it organised four events during the quarter to strengthen the business environment for technology firms. It also trained 729 individuals through digital upskilling programmes targeting talent in advanced technology sectors.

As part of its business facilitation efforts, the chamber expanded its ‘Business in Dubai’ platform to include 20 new service providers, bringing the total number of partners to 114. The platform offers services ranging from licensing support to business matchmaking for startups seeking investors, clients, or partners.

Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence and Chairman of the Chamber, said the entity is working to build a digital ecosystem aligned with federal policy goals. He added that the chamber aims to support the growth and global expansion of digital companies from Dubai.

During Q1, the chamber conducted 12 international roadshows, up from three in the same period in 2024. These campaigns aimed to promote Dubai’s digital economy infrastructure and draw attention to Expand North Star.

The roadshows included events in US cities such as Las Vegas, Phoenix, and San Francisco, with over 200 attendees from startups, venture capital firms, and tech incubators. In Canada, Toronto, Mississauga, and Vancouver sessions attracted more than 350 participants. Another roadshow in Australia, held in Sydney and Melbourne, drew 400 stakeholders.

The chamber said these campaigns are part of a broader effort to position Dubai as a preferred base for digital entrepreneurs and investors, particularly in the lead-up to major global tech events. Expand North Star is organised by the Dubai World Trade Centre and hosted by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy.
