BlackRock, Microsoft, GIP and MGX launch $100 billion AI Infrastructure Investment Partnership

NVIDIA will support GAIIP with its expertise in AI data centres.

BlackRock, Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), Microsoft and MGX have formed the Global AI Infrastructure Investment Partnership (GAIIP) to develop data centres addressing the growing demand for AI computing power. The partnership aims to unlock $30 billion in private equity capital, with a total investment potential of $100 billion, including debt financing.

NVIDIA will support GAIIP with its expertise in AI data centres, and the partnership will work with industry leaders to strengthen AI supply chains and energy sourcing. GAIIP seeks to support open architecture and provide access to diverse partners and companies.

GAIIP combines expertise in infrastructure, energy, and decarbonisation, positioning itself to scale data centres and enable AI-related infrastructure development globally.

MGX was created in Abu Dhabi earlier this year to invest in AI and advanced technologies with global partners to enable the technology fabric of the global economy, focusing on AI infrastructure; AI-enabled technology; and semiconductors. The announcement is a major partnership within those segments, building on the emirate’s longstanding investment track record in data centres, compute capacity and enabling infrastructure.
