Musk discusses robotics and AI expansion in Saudi Arabia at Investment Forum

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and xAI, participated in the Saudi–US Investment Forum in Riyadh, where he outlined plans to introduce Tesla’s autonomous robotaxis and humanoid robots to Saudi Arabia. He also announced that SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet service has received approval for use in the Kingdom’s aviation and maritime sectors.

Musk emphasised the potential of humanoid robots to significantly boost global productivity, suggesting that widespread adoption could expand the global economy tenfold. He likened the future ubiquity of personal robots to the prevalence of smartphones today.

Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha highlighted the Kingdom’s commitment to becoming a global hub for artificial intelligence and digital innovation. He noted that Saudi Arabia is investing in cloud services, digital infrastructure, and AI value chains to support this goal.

The forum also featured discussions on the broader US–Saudi strategic partnership, focusing on advancing technology, defence, and economic cooperation. Notably, a $600 billion investment package was announced, encompassing defence deals, AI initiatives, and capital investments to diversify Saudi Arabia’s economy.
