His Excellency Xi Jinping, President of China, welcomed His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, during an official visit on Tuesday. The President praised the enduring relationship between the UAE and China, citing the continued growth across critical cooperation areas: specifically energy and fintech.
China represents over 10% of the UAE’s non-oil trade: a substantial figure for the Emirates as it diversifies its economy, whilst the UAE is China’s largest export market in the MENA.
During their meeting, the Crown Prince conveyed greetings from His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, expressing wishes for China’s prosperity. President Xi reciprocated with his own greetings and best wishes for the UAE’s success. T
The discussions focused on investment collaboration in addition to regional and international matters, stressing the need for stability and cooperation in addressing shared global challenges: namely the Iran war.
Sheikh Khaled also met with His Excellency Li Qiang, Premier of China, where the two examined opportunities to bolster the strategic partnership across priority sectors, particularly in economic and developmental fields.
Sheikh Khaled highlighted the importance of investing in future opportunities and enhancing supply chain resilience, reinforcing both nations’ roles in the global economy.
The UAE–China Business Promotion Conference, held concurrently, brought together business leaders to explore trade, investment, and technology opportunities amid increasing non-oil trade.
Non-oil trade between the UAE and China reached approximately $111B in 2025: up 24% YoY from FY24.
Twenty-four MoUs were signed at the conference to enhance bilateral economic, trade, and investment relations.
